We in District 127 are proud to be in a community that values the partnership with our local police and fire departments to provide meaningful and critical training for us to remain as safe as possible in the event of an active threat.
The Grayslake Police Department will be conducting an active threat scenario requiring a large-scale response to asses first responder capabilities. The Grayslake Police Department, in conjunction with the Grayslake Fire Protection District, Grayslake Community High School District 127, the Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital EMS system, and several other police and fire jurisdictions, will be participating in the event.
The scenario will take place at the Grayslake North Community High School located at 1925 N Rt 83 on July 28, 2023, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The simulation exercise will contain several dynamic conditions that could be anticipated during an actual response to an active threat incident. The scenario will include ambulances, fire trucks, active shooter simulations including weapons firing blanks, and a helicopter landing in the parking lot.
Please know the Grayslake North High School campus will be closed during this training scenario.
