Physics
What Current Students Say...
The labs are great for visualizing the concepts and they enjoy the real world application with problems that you can actually test in class
Many students take Physics because it is a traditional “next science class” to prepare for college, or they are interested in the topics
Some common challenges include: vocabulary/terms, math requirements, and balancing time with other commitments (academic or extracurricular)
Advice to Future Students?
It's not as scary as you think, especially if you can understand algebraic concepts.
The homework and study guides really help you understand the material!
What Else You Should Know...
While Physics can be a challenging course at times, it can be a good prep for college level courses
Recommended concurrent enrollment in AAT Honors or higher. Students will need to regularly apply algebra and trigonometry skills, as well as unit conversions, to Physics concepts
About half of students report spending between 1-2 hours of work outside of class per two days of block
Summative Assessments include 1-hour traditional exams that include multiple choice and short response (i.e., problems)
