Earth Science Honors (Dual Credit)

What Current Students Say...

We enjoy the labs and interactivity, the topics, and manageable workload

Many students take ESH to potentially earn college credit, or because they have a career-related interest or interest in the topics.

Some common challenges include: vocabulary/terms and balancing time with other commitments (academic or extracurricular)

Advice to Future Students?

  • Do the formatives and use the time you are given!  Don’t fall behind.

  • Use the resources provided.

What Else You Should Know...

This is a course where students can earn free, transferable college credit of 4 lab science hours (pending eligibility - 3.0 GPA, or 490 PSAT Math, or CLC basic algebra readiness proficiency test)

About half the students report less than 1 hour of work outside of class per two days of block, others say 1-2 hours

Students should be able to make connections and identify cause-effect, solve using equations, do word problems, graph analysis, know evidence vs. inference, basic planning and conducting investigation processes

It is helpful to have some basic Chemistry/Physics understanding, but not required
